Quo Vadis?

Where are you going?

It took me by surprise when my dear friend told me he was entering the Society of Jesus. We were sitting in the lounge of the seminary I attend, and I knew by the look in his eyes that he knew he had found his calling; the scales of doubt had vanished, leaving a new found purpose.

In the past two years of writing back-and-forth from seminary to novitiate, we've taken to calling each other "Peter" and "Paul." St. Peter, the Rock, ministered to those on the home front while St. Paul, depicted holding a sword, became known as "The Apostle to the Gentiles," spreading the Word of Christ far and wide.

We found it very fitting that each of us had set forth to do the work of Jesus Christ, but in very different ways; our callings would lead us to preach in the same manner of the two Great Apostles, our new intercessors. Now as we set forth as adventurers in the Blogosphere, we hope that our musings, reflections, and prayers might be of service to all.

As Tradition holds, Peter encountered Christ while fleeing Rome, and asked Him, "Quo Vadis?" Jesus responded, "I am going to Rome to be crucified." Peter then took up his own cross, and followed his Teacher.

Join Paul and I as we journey towards Rome.
